Matt was out of town for work and Weston and I were in need of a day out of the house (more like mom needed to get this boy out of the house real fast haha). I’m trying to get into the swing of fall, even though it really doesn’t feel like fall here in upstate New York right now with temperatures regularly in the 70s and 80s (not complaining, but I love fall!!! It’s my favorite time of year and I’m hoping that we don’t skip fall all together and move right into winter, my least favorite time of year). I have a list of fall activities that I want to do with my son this year and one of them is apple picking. We loaded up the car and headed to our favorite spot, Becker Farms.
They have this awesome, very kid friendly, fall festival with a live band, BBQ, bounce houses, corn maze, pig races and much more. I planned on apple picking in their orchard and then letting Weston play in the kid area for a bit after. He’s such a social butterfly, even though he doesn’t have much of a vocabulary just yet, he loves to play with other kids.
It was soooo hot that day! And we ended up spending two unplanned hours in the orchard. Weston loved running through all of the trees and picking apples. I think he ate 10 apples while out there. By the time we made it back to the visitor area we were so hot and tired and ready for a nap that we ended up deciding to leave.
All in all it was a great day out. I love our mommy and son times.
